Welcome Back!
We hope you had a relaxing winter break and a great first week back! Please take a moment to read this email and learn about some important upcoming events you won’t want to miss:
Serving Justice: Connecting Legal Minds for the Public Good
Thursday, February 13th, 5-7 PM, UB School of Law (Floors 0 and 0.5)
Join us for our signature spring networking event to learn firsthand from practitioners about their work and community impact. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet professionals in the field and explore potential summer internship opportunities!
The Maryland Public Interest Law Project (MPLIP) Public Interest Fair
Wednesday, February 19th, Noon to 1:30 PM, Westminster Hall, University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law
Many students enter law school unaware of the diverse and important work done by nonprofit and public interest organizations. The organizations that attended last year provided valuable insight into the wide range of impactful legal careers available in the public interest field. We hope this fair will serve as a bridge to connect our law students with the incredible MLSC organizations.
This event will not be advertised as a hiring fair, but if your organization hosts legal externs, interns, or entry-level attorneys, we would love for you to share that information with our students.
Please RSVP to Alexis Gabel at MPILP via email by Monday, February 3rd. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Teresa Schmiedeler, Senior Managing Director, Public Service & Externships, at tschmiedeler@law.umaryland.edu.
Summer Fellowship Information Session
Friday, February 21st at Noon (Virtual and Recorded)
The deadline to apply for Summer Fellowships is March 24th, so please join this information session to learn more about eligibility, how to apply, and more!

We look forward to another great semester with you!
